Not exactly roughing it...

Man, camp is going to be great! Tonight is was just the main staff-15 people or so. We did a lot of work getting stuff ready for the high school counselors who come tomorrow at 10AM. So my room is one of the rooms in the health lodge that they put a cot in. Yes, I have a full kitchen in my room and a full bath one room over. Sweets! Not much of camping but, I'm NOT complaining. However, my room is between the loading dock and kitchen, it's midnight and let's say it quite noisy with folks still working. Cheers to earplugs! Gnight!

My room and my bed.

The health room-for sick kids that I decorated today.

Laundry facilities and a full bath! Luxury!

Today

I'm spending today and tomorrow applying applying applying, 6 hours a day. I'm up to 72 ish applications I think, I need to re-count. I feel awfully pro at the online app at this point. I could professionally critique online applications. Some are just dumb. I'm just going down a list of hospitals in California and double checking that I've pretty much applied for every potential position there is. When my list runs out I'll be looking at Colorado and yes family, Hawaii is still on my list. :-P Friday night I'll probably be ready to jump off a bridge.

I get to be a nurse!

Hey! I passed my exam to get a degree. So I'm pretty good to go. I have one more oral exam once I get back to Portland (I have to tell some faculty what a great nurse I'm going to be). Then I'll be taking my licensing exam around the first of June. But, I'm not thinking about that now. I just want to open a bottle of champagne. ;-)

Nurse work!

Worked as a real nurse today at UNM H! Delegating, called doctors, took reports, discharge, admits, cleaned a PICC line, straight cath-ed, some serious pain management, and lots other nursey stuff. It was a good busy day. Time to pass out.

Dance of the Decades!

Each year UP rents out the Crystal Ballroom downtown and buses students down for a night of costumers, dancing and fun. I decided to take advantage of my sister's tie-dye and go hippie!

Red things.

I'm off to start another week after having it easy. Lots of decisions to make theses days. Poo on money. I worked out five times last week without realizing it. I took three days off to recover but, now it's time to get back in the game. And I suck at calorie counting.

Oh Babies

I worked at Emmanuel neonatal intensive care unit this week. With itty-itty-bitty babes-weighing 3-5 lbs. It was fun but, it's very different nursing work when you can pick up your patient with one hand (though you always use two)! Probably not my cup of tea for nursing but, it was a great experience.
